Is dried mango good for you?

We would like to tell you more about dried mango, one of our most popular products. It’s a really tasty snack, but is it good for your health?

Let’s dive into dried mango’s nutrition and its benefits. You’ll also find out how dried mango is produced. At Sense Asia, we want you to be sure of us and the quality of our products. Let’s go!

What’s the composition of mango?

Dehydrated mango has similar nutritional characteristics to fresh mango. Moreover, dried mangoes retain their health benefits even longer than fresh mangoes.

About 81% of a mango’s biochemicals are carbohydrates. It also contains a lot of vitamins which are essential for the immune system: Vitamin A, Vitamin B group (B1, B2, B5, B6, B9, B12), and Vitamins C and D. Impressive, right?

Mango also has high levels of calcium and phosphorus, which can benefit your bone strength.

How many calories does a mango have?

Dried mango contains more calories than other Asian fruits, due to a big concentration of carbohydrates. A hundred grams of mango contains 315 calories: 1/5 of the recommended intake for the average human.

Mango is easily assimilated by the body, so to maintain your shape, it is best to limit the number of slices you eat each day.

How is dried mango manufactured?

The process of manufacturing is:

• The ripe fruit is sorted, then it’s washed and disinfected.

• The skin is removed.

• The  fresh fruit is sliced.

• The prepared fruit is put in a dehydrator to be dehydrated at 80%. This low processing temperature prevents any degradation of the nutrients.

• The dried slices are covered with sweet toppings.
