Read about Vietnam

Black tea is one of the most popular and consumed beverages in the world. As any other tea variety, it comes from Camellia sinensis plant, but features of harvesting and processing differ it from others. Read on to find out more about what is black tea and what are its health benefits.

What is black tea?

The leaves after being harvested from Camellia sinensis plant go through such processes as wilting, bruising, rolling, and oxidation. They are oxidized when the tea leaves are left to expose to the air for a long time. When enzymes break down the chemicals in them, they produce brown or black color and particular smell.
